Make it Work!
But what? Can Christmas paper be used to wrap birthday presents??
YES!
How??
As my man Tim Gunn says,
You'd never guess.. right?!
1. Wrap the present with the paper facing wrong side out.
So you have a nice clean looking white surface to work with.
2. Then with a stencil (or free hand if you are awesome!) draw different size circles on a piece of fun colored paper.
3. Cut the circles out and glue them to the wrapping paper!
And voila!!
You get a cute birthday present with your old Christmas wrapping paper!!
Also with left over circles you can make a matching card to stick on the present!
***P.S. If you aren't feeling up to drawing and cutting out shapes, let your kids draw pictures or write messages on the paper before you wrap the present. Grandparents love the personalized grandkid touch!!***

So I did, and after I had finished up the post I was milling around on the computer looking at a little of this and a little of that when I get an email from a guy named "Shade Bent," yeah... that name sounds a little shade-y.

Allie gives the best neck squeezes!
E: Errr...
I can't think of anything "e" for this picture. But isn't it a cool picture? I got mad photo skillz! F: Funny Allie
G: Gorgeous Scenery
H: Happy Boy
I: Interesting look
Allie likes to wear my sunglasses. She says, "Now I'm a hot mama, like you!" Love that girl! J: Jump on Dad
K: Kisses for Da-do
L: Look out mom, attack of the kids!
M: More pictures at the Nelson store building
We always take a couple of pictures here. Its pretty cool to see your last name in huge red letters on the side of a building ;) N: Nelson Boys
O: {my} Other parents
P: Please don't get shocked!
Dustin and his dad put up an electric fence for Grandma Bonnie. Doesn't sound too crazy.. except they did it in the rain! I thought electricity and water didn't mix. Apparently its ok as long as you wait to plug in the power til it stops raining... silly me!
I think Jack did get shocked though!!
{note: this isn't the actual the fence they put up. I wasnt' gonna stand out in the rain and take pictures and risk getting shocked myself!}Q: Quite the handsome pair
R: Rounding the corner
On the way home we hiked around at ZionS: Such tall mountains
{in beautiful Zion} T: Take it easy down the hill, Allie!
She slid down the side of this hill and got a cactus in her bum :( U: Uhhh....
I'm drawing another blank on this picture... V: Very beautiful landscaping
When we got home Dustin put in this curbing in our front yard. It looks SO good! W: Wonderfully red tomatoes
And when we came home we found delicious ripe vegi's in the garden! X: {e}Xtremely weird looking plants
Onions kinda looks like the alien baby Will Smith delivers in Men in Black.
Y: You just have to rip their tentacles off
and then they look normal
Z: Ze End
{Spoken with a French accent!} Hope ya'll had a fun weekend too!

silly things we do
Estefan:
Well the picture says it all. But anyway.. every night when I tuck Estefan in bed I ask him what his favorite part of the day was. He always replies, "Dinner!"
He also has a tendency to say things mixed up.. like lowing the mawn and talkie walkies. Too funny, too cute.
~~~~
Allie:
Allie always calls me Mother. She says things like,
"Oh mother, you are so very odd." and
"Mother will you please help me? Mark is being ridiculous."
~~~~
Mark:
Mark is developing a funny personality. When he's mad he drops his fore-head to the floor with his bum up in the air like a little stink bug and cries.
He also waits patiently in the bathroom while I shower. When he hears the water turn off he opens up the curtain and hands me my towel. Its like I have my own little butler.
~~~~
Dustin:
Dustin will wear silly hats like this that I make for our kids' birthday parties. He does that not because he's silly but because he knows it'll make me happy. One silly thing that he does do, is he never calls me by my name unless I'm being "snooty" and then he says it all fancy like.
He'll say, "Yes, Law-wren."
Drives me nuts. And he knows it...
~~~~

Me:
I'm the mom I have to be silly or I'd go crazy.
Yesterday I had my little sister (who is a licenced cosmetologist) re-pierce my ears. After not wearing earrings for 5 years I thought it was time.
So I'm sitting there and she has the earring in the piercing gun and starts to come at me with it. I was so scared!! I tried to be sneaky.. I just slowly started sinking lower and lower in my chair. I wasn't so sneaky.. so she told me to sit back up and hold still. Then she comes at me again and I start shrieking and crying. Really wouldn't you shriek and cry if someone come at you with a gun?!
She looks at me and says, "Oh, Lauren, I'm sorry. I thought you were an adult."
After that process repeats itself for a half an hour I have two new holes in my ears with cute little black earrings. Yeah I can deliver at 9lb 10oz baby but I'm scared to get my ears pierced.
That was some of the silly little things our family says and does.
What are some of the silly things you, your spouse or kids do?
