Quiet Book

If you noticed in my last post, Mark got a quiet book for his birthday.
Photobucket
My sister, Ashley, who is incredibly crafty started making one for her son, Ty and I had to join the fun! So together and with a lot of help from our talented mother we each made one!!

Photobucket
Here is the cover of Mark's!
I loooove the polka dot and cowboy material.

Photobucket
Up close. Cute as a button!

Photobucket
The book is held together with grommets and large binder rings.

Now on to the fun stuff.. the pages!!
Photobucket
The first page is a tool box. Made with a template from Serving Pink Lemonade.
She has so many cute felt projects, I could die!

Photobucket
Next is a barn, complete with finger puppets. Inspiration from Homemade by Jill.

Photobucket
Tractor has moving tires and loader. Inspiration from Mustard Cut.
Ashley made the gumball machine as part of her present to Mark.
I'm not sure where that idea come from.. maybe just her pretty head!

Photobucket
Moving rocket that blasts into space.
Held on with elastic, for stretchy fun.
Inspiration from Mustard Cut.

Photobucket
Next there is a cookie jar with a dozen cookies to take in and out of the pocket at the top.

Idea credit: My Mom :)
The tent has a little pocket inside for a sleeping bear.
Inspiration from Homemade by Jill.

Photobucket
The last two pages are more presents from Ashley. She and my mom put these together.
The caterpillar's body comes apart so you can put the numbers in order.
The robot has stretchy arms and legs. His chest opens to show a cute little heart!

This was such a fun project and enjoyed all the girl time!
Its safe to say that we are addicted to felt.
I have one for Estefan and Allie now in the works!!

Weekend Update x2

The weekend of the the 9th I traveled to Utah to meet all the Designer Blogs girls! Friday afternoon Lara and I hit the road. It was so great to see her, catch up on life and reminisce about the good ol' days! That night we arrived at Erin's house and had some fun girl time. Saturday, Amy and her super duper cute baby, Addi joined us for a day of bid-NASS!
Lauren, Lara, Erin and Amy
We worked all day on new design skills and technique, talked about the future for Designer Blogs, ate yummy food and just had fun getting to know each other in person! I love these girls and I'm so glad to have finally met them. Big things are coming to DB, so keep an eye on the bloggity blog.
Saturday night we stayed with Lara's sister in law, Lindsay, who I lived next door to at college in Reno! It was awesome to see her again and meet her beautiful family. Thanks for a great weekend girls, I can't wait to get together again!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This weekend was full of fun too! We spent Saturday morning out at Meadow Valley wash with Brian and Jill and Josh Jensen (missed you Wendy). We roasted hot dogs and the kids played and played. I did take the camera, but for some reason I never got it out of the truck.. hmmm... I guess we'll just have to go out again!
Saturday afternoon my mom, sister Heather and I threw a baby shower for my sister Ashley. Ashley got soooooo spoiled with lots of great stuff for her little man.
Jess I added this picture just for you!! Love ya. ;)
Some of Ashley's friends playing a game.
Me at 25 weeks -- Ashley at 35 weeks!
After the party my brother Justin and Dad were just coming home from deer hunting and we snapped this silly pic.
Quick kid update:
Estefan is doing well in school and loving boy scouts.
Allie is continuing to learn her ABC's at preschool, then has music and dance class.
Mark loves to play in the dirt and help Papa Stan on the tractor.
Baby is growing and moving like crazy.
And that's all for now.. October is flying right on by! I'm ready to bust out the Christmas movies and sweaters. How about you?!
we haven't been up to much...
I love capturing silly moments. Mark does this a lot. I'm surprised I don't have more pictures of him digging for gold!
Anyway, I haven't posted anything for a while. I thought it was because I've just been busy.. but then I thought, no.. we just haven't been up to much!
Here's a few things we've been up to this week...
1. Playing
2. Saying Good-Bye
Saturday afternoon we had a big family party for Jack and Gaye. {Of course I forgot my camera :P}
On Sunday we enjoyed their wonderful talks, said good bye and they left for the MTC.
They reported Monday morning and are doing great. In just a few days they'll be headed to Texas. We miss them already!
3. Partying
My sister, Ashley, is getting married in about a month and we threw her a bridal shower last week!
Heather ~ Me ~ Ashley
It was super fun. I just realized where the saying "Blushing Bride" comes from!!
Is she blushing? I think sooo....
4. Waiting
Now I'm just waiting patiently for November 20th to roll around.
Since I'm a Twi-freako, I'm working on a t-shirt design for me and my freako friends.
I'm thinking something like this...
The End :)
Whole Lotta' Nothin'
Well not a whole lot has been going on around here.
Estefan had strep throat last week.
Now Allie has it this week.
Allie doesn't mind though.
To her strep throat means...
Now let's pray Mark doesn't get it!!!
I did ditch Dustin Tuesday night. Yup, I left him home to tend to the sickies and I went to Bunko.
I love love love me some Bunko.
You may think I'm crazy but its true. Its the only game I know of where you can win and lose.
I got the most Bunkos and won the loser prize. Yup, I got TWO prizes!!!
Uno. Dos!
I was kind enough to share though :)
So its official I am the...
and like I have to tell you.. but New Moon is less than a month away!!!
I'm so flippin excited I could do a cart-wheel!!
{goes off and does a cart-wheel}
SOOOOO to celebrate I'm buying these shirts. I got one, now one to go!
Hope you are all doing well!
I'm kinda slackin in the comment department...
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...
***Camping Edition***
These two lovely ladies {Emily and Jessica} hosted a girls night out camping trip last weekend!
Most of the time was spent
splashing...
and swinging...
Until the rope swing got stuck!
But using our excellent pinata skillz we were able to...
swing again...
and again
and again!!
The picnic area was inhabited by lots of large, crazy animals. I can't believe I didn't get pictures of them all! {facepalm}
Plastic Panther on the Prowl
Darling Desert Tortoise
Dangerous Dino
Kacee cookin' us some grub!
Me modeling the latest reindeer look {thanks Meliss}!
When we were getting ready to leave the next morning Melissa jumped out of Kacee's jeep screaming!! Us girls in the truck didn't know what the heck was going on. So we get out of the truck to see what all the fuss is about. And Meliss starts yelling "MOUSE! MOUSE IN THE CAR!!!!"
Seriously...?!
Frantically our gear is thrown about in search for the mouse!
Luckily Em had her fishing pole. She poked it in every crevice of the vehicle but there was no sign of the nasty rodent!
We {ok me} drank lots of Root Beer.
We embarrassed ourselves.
We floated on the lake.
We slept under the stars.
We got scared by all the fake animals.
We stuffed our faces.
We had a great time!
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!
Last night our Bunko theme was
The 80's!!
Its fun to get a little crazy every now and then. So I went all out in the 80's punk look.
What do you think? Did I over do it a little?
Allie and Me
She wanted to come too!
Nicole and Melissa
Nicole I think you should do your hair like that everyday. Meliss those stirrup pants were awesome!
The Wives {minus one}
Our husbands were all best friends in High School. Now I think we're all closer than they ever were. {We missed you Natalie!!}
Can you spot the 80's stereotype?
Meliss stylin the stirrup pants... Me rockin the leg warmers and Jess sportin the pegged pants and socks with heals!! Side pony tails included :)
Girls Just Wanna Have FUN!
Our Group
So now you all have to tell me... Did anyone really dress like that in the 80's?!
Twilight Bunko
Tuesday night was my turn to host BUNKO!
And of course I chose TWILIGHT for the theme!
My sister Ashley came over early to help me set up. I put her in charge of taking pictures. And the silly girl didn't take any pictures of us playing! So all I have to post are pictures of the prizes and treats.. better than nothing though! Thanks Ash ;)
These are Cullen Cakes! These puppies took almost a whole bottle of red food coloring to make. I downloaded fonts of the characters' handwriting, printed quotes from the book and stuck them in between forks. The fork are supposed to look like vampire fangs! And the red frosting dripping down the side is supposed to look like blood!
Kinda crazy, but fun... just like our Bunko group!
Twilight Bunko Water, so we didn't get thirsty. We weren't hard core enough to drink blood... that's just sicknast!
The Prizes! The "I (heart) Boys Who Sparkle" Bag went to the winner, the Edward pillow case went to the Bunko Babe and the Twilight pins went to the loser.
All the goodies!
We watched Twilight as we played and ate M&M's til we were ready to pop!
Thanks for a fun night girls!!
