Octopus for Dinner?!

Hey guess what?

I'm not dead!!

I'm just a super duper blog slacker...

So I will leave you with this super fun activity we did for dinner while I get some other posts ready!!

We made Poor Man's Calamari for dinner.

Yes, I totally just made that name up!

Its soooo easy and soooo fun.

Basically, you stick spaghetti noodles in cut up hot dogs... like so...

or like so... {if you're Estefan}

Then you throw your little octopuses... octopi... whatever their called... into some boiling hot water.

When I was about 10 years old I received my first book series, The Little House books. They were a Christmas present from my Grandma.

Ever since then I've been hooked!!

I love me a good book series!

From The Work and the Glory

to Harry Potter!

My newest love is The Hunger Games series!

{Katniss is the shiz and Peeta for Prez!}

Viva La Husbands

I have this friend. She is the coolest girl I know. She happens to be my best friend. Her name is Melissa. And I love her.
Melissa is married to a man named Chase. Chase is a pretty cool guy. He just so happens to be my husbands best friend. So this works out quite well for Melissa and me.

Well Chase is a helicopter pilot and he works in the Gulf of Mexico. His job is pretty cool.. other than the fact that he and Melissa only get to see each other every two weeks. :(

Well Melissa was feeling rather down the other day and posted this about her man. At the end of her post, Melissa asked everyone to post about why their man is the coolest. So like a good friend, I'm joining her revolution and here is my post:

I love my husband because...

1. I love that Dustin wore this red hat til it fell apart. I love that he has hats that are "broke in" and refuses to part with them.

2. I love that Dustin has done things that most people haven't. And I love that he used to wear his hair in a fro. 3. I love that Dustin cooks for me. He totally won me over with his Dutch Oven skills!
4. I love that he used to drive me to seminary in this beast.
5. I love that he lets me wear his flannel shirt.
{That's right, I rock the flannel just like my home girl Bella.}
6. I love that he makes funny faces.
7. see what I mean...
8. I love that he's adventurous.
9. I love that he posed as a Big Horned Sheep once.
10. I love that he loves his kids more than life itself.
and one more for good luck.. and because he just sent it to me...

11. I love it when he writes me sweet text messages and I love it when he calls me darlin'.

A Saturday Ride

Saturday afternoon we went for a ride out to Bunkerville mountain. We can see Bunkerville from our front door and the kids always call it the Big Blue Mountain!

Allie fell asleep in the back of the Rhino!

Dustin was able to take some amazing pictures
Allie played hide and seek in the Joshwa trees
We had a great view of everything!
We roasted some hot dogs
Watched the sunset


and then we headed back on the long dirt road. It was a perfect way to spend the afternoon!

Preschool!!

Allie had her first day of preschool yesterday! She was so excited to wear her new Ariel backpack and go to Cache's house and to get homework like Estefan.
Here are all the kids!

Us mom's will each take one week of the month and alternate teaching in our homes. Yesterday was Amy Keller's day to teach and my turn to drop the kids off to school. I was pretty excited to be the driver on the first day! The kids were all so excited to play together.

When we got to Cache's house Allie ran straight to his door and started pounding on it til Amy came out. She ran inside and didn't look back. I yelled "bye Allie!" and she blew me a kiss. She's so big. Wasn't she just in diapers like yesterday??!!! I only teared up a little...

When Raegan dropped her off after school, she opened her backpack and started telling me about ants and how they carry food and have no eyes. And her name is "A" for Allie and "A" says "mmmm"... we'll have to work on that one!

She had a blast! We can't wait til next week!!
