We love Tuesday mornings!

Why?

Because, its garbage day of course!!

We run to the window...

We yell TRUCK!!!

We watch the guys dump the junk...

We watch them drive away...
We are sad for a minute.

Til next Tuesday garbage truck.

Allie-isms

{if you ask Allie to smile, this is the face you get. Love it!}

1.Allie and Mark both ended up in my bed this morning and Mark's diaper leaked on me. I was pretty bummed that I got peed on and I said,

"OH man. Mark's diaper leaked on me."

and Allie said,
"Well mom, you just need to get used to that."

Me, "BAHAHA HAHA ok.. honey, I'll try and get used to it."

2. I've been meaning to iron all weekend.. but for some reason **coughMark** I can't find my squirt bottle.
So I asked Allie if she had seen it anywhere and she said,

"Mom, you really need to take better care of your stuff."

"Ahhhhh... yup, guess so."

3. I'm a clutz.. I'll admit it, it's true.
The other day I totally tripped over Mark's little turtle car. Faceplant.
I got up and said,
"Allie, you know your mom is kind of a tard, right?"

and she said,
"Yup, but she's the best!"

I don't know if she ment I'm the best mom... or the best tard. I'll take what I can get. It made me smile.

Love Allie and her isms!!

a little post about Mark

My baby is 18 months old.
I don't know how he got so big, so fast.

To help me remember all his little Mark-isms, I thought I'd do a little post just for him.

He makes me smile every single day.

He loves to pulls Allie's hair.

He loves to follow Estefan around.

He has this crazy huge gap between his front teeth.

He loves riding on the four wheeler.

He hates clothes.

He likes to pretend to sleep. He closes his eyes, snores a little and has a huge smile.

He says shoe, MOM, dadda, tractor, outside.. and various other words we can't understand.

He gives high fives and knuckles.

He likes to show off his belly button.

He says hi-ya and attack random objects.

He is a pack rat...
today we went to the grocery store and he had to bring three lighters, two poker chips, a toy tractor with no wheels, his empty juice cup, a spare binky and a partridge in a pear tree.

He loves to be tickled and has the cutest grunt of a laugh.

He blows kisses and gives slobbery wet mouth kisses.

He has huge feet.

He looks so cute in his baby Wranglers.

He climbs on anything and everything.

He has his grandpa's wrapped around his little finger.

He likes to spin around in circles til he's so dizzy he falls down.

He loves to be outside. Every morning he runs to the door and bangs on it til I open it.

He loves his binky.

He loves brown sugar and cinnamon pop tarts.

He'd eat hot dogs for every meal.

He loves animals and the farm.

He can mess up a room in .5 seconds.

He's a lover and a fighter.

He's our little man.

Cinder-mommy

Today, while I was cleaning the floor, Allie came up to me and said,

"Mom, you look just like Cinderella."

I think she ment this Cinderella...

but I'll pretend she ment this one...

The Stick Fort

We Nelson's are still very much enjoying the beautiful fall weather!
Recently we packed a picnic and headed to the stick fort.

But you may be asking yourself, "What exactly is the stick fort?"
Well Mark is standing in front of it...

Don't be fooled, the stick fort isn't your basic everyday tamarack bush.
According to Allie this is the sitting room... where we sit.
There is a hallway and bed chambers and a dining room too. We {when I say we I mean Dustin} built a fire and roasted hot dogs.
Dustin is a man! And he make fire!
Allie was literally jumping for joy when we got out the marshmallows to roast!
Ah, I love the desert. You can wear flip flops all year long.
And hey, the little man boy {picture Haley Joel Osment, only younger} who did my pedicure did a good job. Its been two weeks and they still look pretty.
I had to throw this picture in. You gotta love Dustin's crazy faces!
Oh and if you were wondering he did NOT burn the stick fort down with his blaze. :)
Supposedly the weather is going to warm back up this week.. a whole 80 degrees. I guess I'll put my hoodie back in the closet...

Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy

Click here for the winner of the blog design give away!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy is technically a sequel to Pride and Prejudice.
Written by Sharon Lathan.. NOT Jane Austen... the new author explores what she believes happened after Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth are wed.
When I saw this book at the store I was immediately intrigued. I've often wondered what happened to those two mixed up, proud and stubborn lovers.
So I bought it...
Upon opening the book there is a preface from the author, Sharon Lathan. Lathan had never even read the original book!! She got all her plot ideas after watching the newest version of Pride and Prejudice. I'll admit I love the newest version of P&P and I love the old version too..
But if you aren't a fan of these two...
I wouldn't recommend picking it up.
But even so, after reading the shocking preface I forged on.
The book is entertaining and well..... very newlywedish **wink, wink**
Lathan really tries to pick up on the quick wit that is so evident in Jane Austen novels.. but it just doesn't have the feel of an Austen book. The intelligence.. the tension.. the subtle dialogue is missing.
After about a couple 100 pages of Darcy lovin.. the plot finally picks up where a villain is introduced, there's a climax and it leaves off for another sequel.. two actually if my Internet sources are correct.
The next book by Lathan is called, Loving Mr. Darcy.. one guess what that one will be about.So, I give Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy a star maybe one and half for effort.
Like I said it was entertaining at best... but stick with the classics. You just can't go wrong with Jane Austen.
{Lauren Loves} Autumn Excitment
I bought the kids these Halloween pajamas back in September and ever since then they asked everyday,
"When is it Halloween Mom?" or "Is it Halloween today?"
Soooooo I made this Halloween countdown!
I was inspired by this super cute blog!
I got the magnet board from Roberts craft store and I made the pieces using Megan Turnidge's kit, Cooky Spooky.
Hurry and go buy it!! You only get the Cooky Spooky Treats add on FREE til 10/09!!
Now the kids now exactly how many days til Halloween!!
Maybe another reason they are excited for Halloween is because we picked our pumpkins!
Don't you just love our cute little pumpkin family?!
I can't wait to carve crazy faces in them!
I hope the pumpkins last long enough to carve though...
this little devil keeps pushing them off the porch.
Don't let his smile fool you! He's a little mischief maker!
I always get excited for Halloween when the pomegranates start ripening. That's one of the sure signs I know its fall. We'll be making lots jam and salads with these babies!!
This year we have another reason to be excited for fall...
getting ready for Ashley and Jayson wedding!
Dustin and I went up to Cedar Mountain yesterday and took their engagement pictures. It was lots of fun but it was freezing!! This is the first one I've edited but I'm sure we'll post more on Dustin's photography blog soon!
What are you excited for this fall?
