Allie has been going through a stage where she is afraid of the dark... either that or co-sleeping when she was a baby still hasn't worn off.
Every night, I would hear the pitter patter of not-so-little-feet running down the tiled hallway and into my room. Then a crash into the side of my bed, a leap over the top of me and a snuggle to the middle of Mommy and Daddy.
I used to not mind so much, I figured, "Heck she won't be little forever. Let's just snuggle while she'll let us." But now, with my ever growing tummy there isn't as much room to share as there used to be.
We tried everything to keep her in her bed all night.. bribing with toys, money, The Ice Cream Store!, but alas nothing worked. Little Miss Allie just won't sleep in her bed all night.
So finally we compromised with a bed on the floor next to Mommy and Daddy.
I made her a little spot with some pillows and blankets and she snuggled down and fell asleep. This has gone on for about two weeks now. She starts out in her room and every night around midnight.. pitter patter.. no crash, no leap...no squished baby tummy. Just a happy Allie on the floor safe and sound from whatever monsters she thinks are in her closet.
Allie has made herself right at home. She's even started to bring in some of her stuffed animals. I know its a stage and I'll miss it when she is 15, so I'll enjoy my little roomie for now and be glad she isn't kicking my back in the night.
PS Yes these pictures were staged.. its too dark in my room in the morning to get a good picture. She's totally faking. Gotta love her squinty eyes!
