Bittersweet

Quotes from this weekend:

A prayer before we drove off
Dustin: "Bless us to be safe and drive in...style...amen"
Me: "Drive in style, really?"
Dus: "What? I already said safe. Driving in style won't hurt."

Dus: "Allie, should we go swimming when we get to our hotel?"
Allie: "I don't know. Not if there is crocodiles. I don't want to swim if there is crocodiles."

Me: "Allie will you pick up your my little pony?"
Allie: "Its not your little pony. Its my little pony."
Me: "Allie, its called my little pony."
Allie: "But its really mine."

We went to the Church History Museum while we were in Salt Lake
Dus: "Allie look at this statue. Its angel Moroni, just like on the top of the temple."
Allie: "He has really big toes."

Allie: "Can I give Jesus a hug when we see Evie's baby (Eliana)?
Me: "Of course you can. But do you think we'll see Jesus?"
Allie: "Yes. He was at the hospital with Evie's baby. He was giving her hugs. When I see him I want a hug too."

Our weekend was bittersweet. It was great to see old friends but it was a sad reason to get together. At Eliana's funeral we didn't see Jesus or get to give him hugs. But I could feel his presence there and I knew he was hugging everyone of us, especially Eli and Liz. I'm grateful for eternal families and the gospel.
