One, Two buckle my Shoe

The last two months have gone by crazy fast! I can't keep up with Luke. He's growing and changing right before my eyes. If only I had a camera in my head, handy at all times!

This is my favorite picture from his first month.
Photobucket
In his first month Luke went from a sleepy newborn to an alert little guy!
During his happy-awake time, usually right after eating, he and I would have staring contests.. he always wins.

Month two has already come and gone!
Luke is becoming quite the smiley sweetheart.

A Quick and Crazy, yet Wonderful Trip

Last weekend we took a quick trip to Cannonville to see Grandma Bonnie and Cedar to attend my little sister's baby's blessing.
Photobucket

Grandma Bonnie recently fell and broke her arm. She just had surgery the other day and is doing pretty well. She is a pretty tough lady! She kept saying, "I'm fine, I'm fine." We sure love her and are glad she got to meet Luke!
Photobucket

Grandma's house is full of wonderful "treasures" for little boys. Mark found this pipe thing. At one point Estefan had one too and they were sword fighting.. thank goodness no one got their eye's poked out! (I'm such a mom.)
Photobucket

There is also this old buckin' horse that Dustin remembers playing on when he was a kid.
I think this is the only horse Estefan will ride!
Photobucket

After our visit with Grandma Bonnie we headed down the mountain to Cedar.
We stopped in Red Canyon for a photo opp!

The sunset was beautiful over Cedar mountain!

Around 7 we got to our hotel room. The kids were SOOOO excited to stay in a hotel. Dustin got us some Pizza Hut and after baths we watched Matilda and went to bed.

During the night Dustin and I awoke to the cough.. you know the cough that proceeds puke. Yeah, that one. Allie must've eaten way too much pizza cuz she puked her little brains out. After we got her cleaned up and beded down again.. I swear as soon as I got to sleep I felt a little "tap, tap, tap" on my shoulder.. "Mommy Lauren, I'm wet".. "Did you pee the bed?".. "No, I'm just wet." Well the wet wasn't water.. Estefan had had an accident. So I got up to help him get changed and beded down again.

Insert a 2AM feeding

.. "tap, tap, tap".. "Mommy Lauren..I'm wet again." Rinse and repeat...

But the sweetest thing, that I think helped me get through the night was Allie's prayer. After cleaning up various bodily fluids and returning to bed Allie started talking in her sleep. At first she scared the crap out of me (not literally, thank goodness) because she was talking so loudly. But then I realized she was praying.. in her sleep! It went something like this.. "Heavenly Father, Please bless us to feel better and get some sleep. And bless the food, we're thankful for it. Name of Jesus Christ Amen." AMEN sista! Then we all fell asleep.

Oh did I mention the time changed during the night. We had to get up and eat the only til 9AM complimentary breakfast before 11AM church.. 9AM Utah time plus the time change was 7AM Nevada time.. ACK! Well we made it to breakfast and I stood in line for a half hour to make waffles. Tourists are pretty feisty when they haven't eaten!

Then we made it to church, early I might add, and got to be there for this little guy's blessing. Dustin stood in the circle and Jayson did a great job and gave a beautiful blessing.
Photobucket

After Sacrament meeting we had a lovely lunch with the Whetman's and headed home.. were we all fell asleep at 7PM.

THE END

P.S. We made it through the time change. I think. Now we're all jazzed for another big weekend! My brother is getting married tomorrow!!

P.S.S. Jack and Gaye only have 32 days left until they are home from their mission!!

Blessed

Photobucket
On Sunday, March 6th Luke was blessed by his daddy.

Photobucket
He wore the same blessing suit that Mark did.

Photobucket
If, in the future, we have another little boy, he'll wear it too.

Photobucket
So, don't tell the future brother that Luke pooped all over it.

Photobucket
But poop or no poop, it was a special day.

We love Luke and we're so blessed to have him in our family!

Pinewood Derby, Among other things

On February 19th, Estefan participated in his first Pinewood Derby.
This was his car. Its a Army Hummer/Truck complete with bombs on the roof.
He even wore his favorite camouflage shirt to match. ;)

His car wasn't the fastest but he had lots of fun!
He even won the prize for "Most Original" design. Woot woot!

~~~~
After the race the boys headed out to Gold Butte for some fun.
~~~~

while the girls partied it up at Missy's bridal shower!
Missy is going to be my new sister in just a couple weeks!
Allie was Missy's little helper and opened most of Missy's presents for her.

It was a great, fun filled day for all!!
