Scrap Page Catch Up

My New Year's Resolution last year went really well! I only had a couple pages to catch up on at the beginning of this year before I was able to make our 2013 book. So of course this year I made the same resolution, but am totally slacking! I just can't get in the groove. I sit down to scrap and end up on Pinterest! Oh well.. here are some pages I'm trying to catch up on from January til now.

Back in January we celebrated Luke's birthday! He was so excited to open his presents. Crazy how he is just turning into a little man!

Also back in January, Johnny turned 18 months. He starting going to nursery, at church, and hated it! Now he loves it.. most days. But he does love playing outside and helping daddy work on stuff.

One morning in March, Mark came up to me while getting ready for school and said, "mom there is a steer head on my nose!" He scrunches his little nose up and sure enough the outline of a steer head shows up! I decided to scrap this memory and call it "Born a Cowboy" .. cows are in his DNA!

And in April we went to the fair! We love the fair! The food, the rides, the rodeo, the food.. oh wait I already said that! We had a blast!

These next two scrap pages are the more recent memories. ^^Mother's Day! Me and the kiddos :)^^

and Allie's Spring Violin recital. The recital was only two days ago, so 10 points for me for not procrastinating! Allie did great. She is loving violin and we plan to add the piano this Summer to switch things up.

Whew! Now I need to scrap Mark's birthday, May Day and lots of camping and canoeing trips!!

My Little Monsters

Design Kit: Monster Mayhem by Megan Turnidge and Tickled Pick Studio
Template: Rhapsody by Little Green Frog Designs

Mark, Luke and Johnny are wild and crazy!
They love riding their bikes in the road next to our house, playing outside and of course getting dirty!
Luke laid in the road and said take my picture!

Mark figured out how to make skid marks! He was so proud of himself.

Johnny is getting so big and tries to keep up with the big boys as best he can.

It seems like every time I look over Luke is peeing on something!
Mark always takes time out of playing to bring me a flowers.

I love my little monsters!

Big Cowboy says...

 Mark cracks me up.
He talks and talks and talks and then talks a little more.
He says the funniest things too...

Mark: Mom you are beautiful, you are the queen. I will be the king and Luke will be the servant.
Luke: No!
Me: I don't think Luke wants to be the servant.
Mark: Okay, then Johnny will be cuz, he can't talk!

Mark: Hey mom, I've been thinking and I know what I want for my birthday.
Me: Oh, yeah, what?
Mark: A crane. Like a big crane. Not a toy crane. A big crane. A big crane that I can work on. Like for real, not a toy one. And a rocket. But one that is made out of a box. And a new hat for my Woody. And super glue it to his head so I can't loose it.

I was sitting at the computer the other day and I heard a cry and yell and then a scream. So I went in the living room where the boys were playing and I said, "what is going on?" To which Mark replied, "Luke was dragging Johnny across the room, so I had to hi-ya-ti-chop him!"

Oh that cowboy. He keeps me on my toes!

But, he can be oh so sweet!

Big Cowboy goes to School

Yesterday was Mark's first day back to preschool!
I almost put him in the county preschool, but decided to stick with the mom group we had going from last year. Plus I wanted to be his teacher again. I'm not ready for my big cowboy to get bigger!

He was so excited to go!
He got his backpack all packed up the night before with his new crayons and supplies.

Silly faces -- so Mark!

Toy Story backpack. He loves Woody and Buzz!

Then I dropped him off at his partner, James' house, where Aunt Kristi was the teacher for this week.
They are such good buddies!

Its going to be a great year!

Become as a little child..

Mark rarely goes a day without wearing his belt and bull belt buckle. Recently, we've noticed a rash on his tummy, right where the buckle hits. Since he's been wearing the same buckle since he was about two years old, we attribute the rash to him being sweaty and the buckle rubbing, rather than an allergic reaction to the metal.

The other night, he said that the rash was itchy and was hurting him, so I rubbed Benadryl on it before bed. Then Dustin took him to his room to tuck him in. Mark started crying a lot and said that the cream was hot (I thing it stung his itchy skin) and that it hurt really bad. He asked Dustin to say a prayer to Heavenly Father, to make the rash quit hurting. So Dustin prayed that Mark would be comforted and be able to sleep. As soon as Dustin said amen, Mark stopped crying. Then he said that he wanted to say a prayer to tell Heavenly Father thank you for making him feel better.

I was so proud of Mark and humbled by his faith. Mark knew that Heavenly Father would help him and then he wanted to thank him after he made him feel better. It was such a tender mercy and a testimony building experience for him and for Dustin and I. We are always reading in the scriptures that to be saved we have to become like a little child. I've often thought about that line, as I raise my children and the other night it became completely crystal clear. If I could have a tenth of the faith as my children do, if I prayed with the same humble spirit and if I live as honestly and sweetly as they do, then I'd be a much better person. I love my children so much and I'm incredibly grateful for their example to me.

Mark's Birthday Party x2

Since Mark's birthday is always right smack dab in the middle of the fair and Easter, it seems like every other day we have a party for him!

This year Mark wanted a construction cake with trucks and backhoes. So thanks to Pinterest this is what I came up with! It looked like a big fat mess with Oreo crumbs everywhere, but construction sites are usually messy, so it was all good. Plus it was yummy!

We had an Easter/Birthday party at Grandpa Jack and Grandma Gaye's house and he got some fun stuff. He loooooved the handcuff's that Aunt Jill gave him!

A few days later, on Mark's actual birthday, we had another party at our house with the Hardy's.

Where he got so more fun stuff!

I love this kid so much!

Happy birthday, my Big Cowboy!
