Sick, Sick, Sick

The Forth of July wasn't super festive on our part. We had a bunch of sickies at our house!

Allie had a really bad headache, so bad that the light hurt her eyes and she laid in bed most of the day. Then Mark got a fever and was throwing up. Oh and did I mention the day before (July 3rd) that Johnny got circumcised? Well, he did. So he was in the same boat with the big kids.

They all fell asleep really early.
But that meant Luke got Mom and Dad all to himself!!

We were originally going to put Luke down early too and just all go to bed.. but we had to watch the fireworks! So we got out a blanket and some glow sticks and laid on the lawn.

Luke loved the glow sticks and was having a big ol' time!

Then about ten minutes into the show he fell asleep!

Quite the celebration, right?!
Oh well.. we'll try again next year...

Our 4th of July Weekend

July 1st we headed to Panguitch for Grandma Bonnie's 80th birthday.
I failed to get a picture of her though (facepalm).

We had a good ol' time. Lots of games, cake, music, cake, BBQ, cake, visiting and oh cake!

We had planned to stay in Utah for the whole 4th of July weekend, but Allie and Luke had other plans.
They got super sick.
It was so sad. :(

So Sunday morning the 3rd {after cleaning up lots of yuck} we packed up and headed for home.

~~~
On the 4th, the kids managed to rally for some sparklers and to watch the town's firework display. My parents came over and we had ice cream and strawberries and enjoyed the nice night air.
Tuesday the 5th, Dustin stayed home from work, to help me with the sickies, make spaghetti sauce and sort through the mound of laundry.. oh and he mowed the lawns, helped his dad mend his porch and worked in the garden all while I took a nap.
Not exactly the fun filled weekend I had in mind..
but hey, you know what they say.
When life gives you lemons...
{you fill in the blank!}
I'm what the French call les incompetents...
I guess its safe to say that pregnancy has taken its toll... Would you believe me if I said that I'm still recovering from girls camp and our Texas trip? Well, I am. The laundry keeps attacking me from all side, the dust bunnies are settling in, in every nook and cranny and I'm pretty sure Dustin is ready to trade me in for a new wife. I'd really be ok with that if she did the cooking and cleaning though.
But seriously, I've passed the everything makes me want to puke stage and now I'm in the I'm so tired I can't even function stage. I haven't posted anything about the garden or canning because the site of tomatoes frankly makes me nauseous. People keep asking how far along I am and when I due. Then they laugh when I say I have no idea! So, I finally calculated my estimated due date, thank you Baby Center, and they say that I about 10 weeks pregnant and my baby is the size of a grape. I have my first doctor appointment next week and I'm excited to hear the little grape's heart beat and know that this is pregnancy thing is for real and I'm not just a lazy butt.
Ok, enough of that.. things have really been good.
Last Wednesday me and some of the old Bunko crew went to see Eclipse. So far the Twilight movie saga for me has been bad dye jobs, bad acting and bad screenwriting. Eclipse was better. Instead of dye jobs they opted for wigs. Big, big thank you to Jasper's stylist for not making him look totally retarded, semi yes, but not totally. The acting was ok, I actually thought Robert Pattinson made a good Edward this time around. Lastly, the screenplay, well there were things I would change for sure... but I think Miss Rosenburg is finally getting it. My favorite part of the night had to be the huge Icee I got and the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows trailer. Oh yes and Jessica gambling, of course!!!
We had a great 4th of July.
Very low key, but that's the way we like it.
We swam at the res...
played with sparklers...
and watched the fireworks!!
All in all, things are good. And I'm having a baby!!! That is something to be excited about. Happy posts from here on out.. mmmkkkay!
By the way, I'm so "les icompetents" my clever title well has run dry. Thanks to Connie for the inspiration!
How we celebrated the 4th
We cried
We splashed
We floated
We swam
We made crazy faces
We wore our shoes wrong ;)
We worked on the house
We made a big mess
We wore funny shirts
(yes, this is my brother. no that's not his real belly)
We hung out with Papa Stan
We visited with family
We jumped on the tramp
We took a girl picture
We played with sparklers
We were a little scared of the sparklers
We pretended to be Harry Potter with the sparkles
We were allowed to play with fire
(only on holidays)
We (ok just Estefan) lost a tooth
We watched the fireworks
We had a wonderful weekend
The End
