Convo

Yesterday we babysat my adorable niece and my two nephews while my brother and sister in law went to the temple. That gave us a house full of 5 kids under the age of five! It was lots of fun, full of mac and cheese and hot dogs and toys, toys, toys!

During the course of the evening I received a text from my father in law (who's on a mission in Texas).. our conversation was as follows:

Jack: Will you survive the whole kids deal?
Me: Oh yeah! Its good practice.
Jack: How many you want?
Me: A dozen or so

Then I get this picture and the caption, "Woa!"

Me: That'll be me if I really have 12 kids
Jack: Fer sure!

Lesson Learned

Last week I ran out of face wash... lazily, I didn't go to the store for a couple days and had to wash my face wish Dustin's Irish Spring soap. So I finally hit the store.

I browsed the soap isle and found my usual brand, Clearasil.. check the price, $10.52?!
What the dirty face??!
That was a little more than I'm used to paying. So I got the next brand over Clean & Clear.. price check, $3.45. Okay I can handle that.. I'll just try something new. Change is good, right?

Flash forward to the next morning, I'm in the shower.. squirt some face wash in my hand and work it onto my face.

AHHHHHHH!!!! Burning flesh! Red eyes! Dead face!!

What the crap is in this stuff?? ACID?
I check the label...

Okay now let me translate:
"cleans deep down-to-the-pores" = cleans so deep you hit bone
"cool, refreshing tingle" = excruciating burning sensation
"deep cleans even dirt & oil you can't see" = your eyes will melt out of your skull so you won't be able to see the dirt and oil anymore
I had to get out of the shower and wipe my face off with a dry towel. It seriously felt like I had been chopping hot peppers with my nose. I'm surprised my eyes really didn't melt out of their sockets. What a way to start the day!

Moral of the story: sometimes it doesn't pay to be cheap... change isn't always a good thing... don't buy face wash at the grocery store... I don't know. I do know that I have a brand new bottle of face wash available if any one wants a flesh searing clean face!!

Over-Nighter

Last night we took our camp trailer aka Big Foot out to Whitney Pockets for a mini-camp trip.
The evening was full of smores, candy, campfires and fun!
Then today was full of pancakes, sausage, hiking, cave exploring and more fun!

The pictures pretty much explain themselves so enjoy!

Bab-Bam

This morning Mark asked me for a jar so he could catch me a widdle bowd (little bird).
So I gave him an old baby food jar and sent him on his merry way.

A little while later he came into the house and said,
"Mom, I catched you some dirt!"

Apparently dirt is easier to catch than little birds.

He's purdy proud of his little jar of dirt.

And I'm pretty proud of my widdle Bab-Bam (Bat Man).

The End

Weekend Update x2

The weekend of the the 9th I traveled to Utah to meet all the Designer Blogs girls! Friday afternoon Lara and I hit the road. It was so great to see her, catch up on life and reminisce about the good ol' days! That night we arrived at Erin's house and had some fun girl time. Saturday, Amy and her super duper cute baby, Addi joined us for a day of bid-NASS!
Lauren, Lara, Erin and Amy
We worked all day on new design skills and technique, talked about the future for Designer Blogs, ate yummy food and just had fun getting to know each other in person! I love these girls and I'm so glad to have finally met them. Big things are coming to DB, so keep an eye on the bloggity blog.
Saturday night we stayed with Lara's sister in law, Lindsay, who I lived next door to at college in Reno! It was awesome to see her again and meet her beautiful family. Thanks for a great weekend girls, I can't wait to get together again!!

This weekend was full of fun too! We spent Saturday morning out at Meadow Valley wash with Brian and Jill and Josh Jensen (missed you Wendy). We roasted hot dogs and the kids played and played. I did take the camera, but for some reason I never got it out of the truck.. hmmm... I guess we'll just have to go out again!

Saturday afternoon my mom, sister Heather and I threw a baby shower for my sister Ashley. Ashley got soooooo spoiled with lots of great stuff for her little man.
Jess I added this picture just for you!! Love ya. ;)

Estefan is doing well in school and loving boy scouts.
Allie is continuing to learn her ABC's at preschool, then has music and dance class.
Mark loves to play in the dirt and help Papa Stan on the tractor.
Baby is growing and moving like crazy.

And that's all for now.. October is flying right on by! I'm ready to bust out the Christmas movies and sweaters. How about you?!

Pumpkin Time!

Last night after dinner we picked pumpkins!!
I've been so excited to go and get some pumpkins, melons and corn from Grandpa's garden I could hardly stand it. Then with all the rain we had Monday we had to wait til the mud dried up a bit.

Dustin and Allie huntin around!

Allie had to have a little one for her room and Dustin has this weird love for the green pumpkins.
I like mine orange... just sayin.

Mark wanted a huge pumpkin. And he wanted to carry it all by himself.
Dad said "Ready? Here you go."

I got it. I got it. I got it.

I don't got it!

So he picked a smaller one and loaded it up on the wheeler.

Allie found another one and the vine tickled her little nose!
A scarecrow.. nope just Dustin!

My perfect pumpkin!

We walked around the patch and picked and picked until it got dark and we were super muddy!

But Allie said, "Just one more!!"

Now we're all loaded up and ready for Halloween!!!
