Big Cowboy goes to School

Yesterday was Mark's first day back to preschool!
I almost put him in the county preschool, but decided to stick with the mom group we had going from last year. Plus I wanted to be his teacher again. I'm not ready for my big cowboy to get bigger!

He was so excited to go!
He got his backpack all packed up the night before with his new crayons and supplies.

Silly faces -- so Mark!

Toy Story backpack. He loves Woody and Buzz!

Then I dropped him off at his partner, James' house, where Aunt Kristi was the teacher for this week.
They are such good buddies!

Its going to be a great year!

A First for Mark

Well, we made it through the first week of Elementary school. Allie had a very rough first day. She was nervous and it was a really hot day. I think she got over heated.. long story short she puked in class and stayed home on the second day. The third day was better and so was the rest of the week. When we called Estefan he said he was glad to be able to see his friends again and that he, and I quote, "I didn't even get into trouble!" Ha ha. Funny kid.

Now today we're excited for another first day... Mark's first day of preschool!
He didn't really get why I wanted to take his pictures.
He said, "Mom, big cowboys don't take pictures. And they don't go to preschool."

But Allie showed him how it was done.

After a couple snaps he started to get into it.
He said, "Mom take my picture wif Wookie."
(Luke has bed head.. tee hee!)

When I told him we were going to pick up James and that preschool was at Knox's house he was all smiles.
Now that's my Big Cowboy.

Good thing there aren't any girls in his preschool class.
I think he'd break their hearts, cuz he's Momma's boy. ;)

Now lets see.. the big kids are at Elementary school, the Big Cowboy is at preschool and Luker boy is sleeping.

What's a Momma to do with two hours to herself?

Whatever she wants!!! That's right.

Conquer the World

Our little preschool group finished out their school year today.

I've loved and cherished every minute I've been able to watch these kids learn and grow.
From this day to this day and to now.

With teary eyes and a happy heart, I present to you the preschool...

“I wish we could promise you that the world will be safer and easier for you than for us, but we cannot make that promise, for just the opposite is true . . . Your challenge is much greater than was ours. Few of us would trade places with you...

"But, oh, what a wonderful time to be young! You have knowledge of many more things than we needed to have. It is my conviction that your generation is better and stronger than was ours—better in many ways! I have faith that you young men and young women can meet the world on its own terms and conquer it!”

President Boyd K. Packer

Now go out and conquer the world kids -- or at least half day kindergarten to start with.

We love you and are rooting for you!! :)

I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils...

Don't you just love New York Logandale in the Fall? (name that movie!)

Things I'm loving so far this Fall:

1. Preschool
These kids are so much fun! When I went to pick Allie up from her first day this is what I found!

When I told her it was time to go and she needed to give Hans his goggles back she said,
"But Mom! I can't see without my glasses!!" What a nut.

 My mom sent me this picture the other day.. this is me on my first day of preschool.

I think Allie and I might look alike. Do you see any resemblance?

2. Learning
"Mom, Mom! Come see this! There is an L in the living room!"
The sunshine from the front window made a perfect L shape on the floor. YAY for preschool and ABC's!

3. Boredom
Mark's not too sure he likes Allie going to preschool.. he gets bored and tries to invent games to play on his own. This one is called "I See You." He found as many toys as he could with holes in them and held them to his eyes and proudly said to me, "I see you!" He did this for at least 15 minutes.

Sometimes I get bored when Allie is gone too. I think I might get Dustin's duct tape next Tuesday and make some of these flowers for mine and Allie's flip flops. (The Crafting Chicks)

4. Fridays at the Library
We've also been enjoying the library again! And look who was there to welcome us back!
Well, hello there Edward.

5. My Birthday
I turned 24 on Wednesday. It was a great day. My family totally spoiled me.
I got Scoop for dinner! No dishes!! YAY!

 Oh man did I get spoiled!
 Some of my goodies...

So there you have it. I'm loving the Fall.

Peace Out..

V is for....

Vegetables!

Today it was our turn to host preschool.
The letter of the week is letter V. So read a book about things that start with V, practiced writing our names and the letter V.

Then we got to the most fun part!
Planting vegetables!!!
 They were all ready and willing to get their hands dirty!

Allie even wrote her letter in the soil!

After they got their cups full of dirt they planted their beans. Here they are with their "dirt cups" as Hans called them.

They did a great job!

Planting is hard work, so we took a snack break.

Five minutes later we had to check and see if the beans were growing yet.

Nope.. nothing yet.

Then Allie took the kids on a tour of her garden.

We love preschool!!!

This post is brought to you by the letter N!

Yesterday we had preschool at our house. The letter for the week is N. The kids practiced writing their names, writing the letter N and we read a book about things that start with N.

And it just so happened that I had a whole bunch of Pecans in my yard that needed to be gathered, sooooo....
we picked nuts!

Pecans are nuts, right!
And nut starts with N, so it was perfect and the kids loved it!!

It was like Easter!

The found lots and lots and lots of nuts. Mark even helped! :)

Here they are with their buckets. Notice Allie is dressed up especially fancy for this activity.

I showed the kids how to step on the nuts and crack them open to get the yummy part out. Cash and Hans thought the nuts tasted pretty good.

Allie.. not so much!

It was a beautiful day and super fun activity for the kids.. and now all my Pecans are picked up too!

We did miss Elise though. Hope you are feeling better little girl!!

~~~~~~~
and this has nothing to do with the letter N in any way but it was too cute not to post.
Mark on his horse, yesterday afternoon.
Cutest little cowboy ever!
